Biography
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with 15 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults, couples, and adolescents in outpatient, community-based, residential, and university settings. I am currently in private practice in Berkeley and San Rafael where I offer individual and couple therapy and consultation. I work with people from diverse backgrounds with a wide variety of concerns. I specialize in working with individuals with trauma, eating issues, body image concerns, perinatal issues, and infertility. I also specialize in couple therapy and work with couples on many different aspects of their relationships including communication, sexuality, commitment, and family. In addition, I am a practitioner of EMDR and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. My work is informed by relational, psychodynamic, feminist, trauma, attachment, psychobiological, developmental neuroscience, and sociocultural theories, as well as my background in mindfulness meditation.
I earned my Doctorate and Master's in clinical psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California and my Bachelor's in psychology from Barnard College in New York City. My doctoral research investigated the impact of mindfulness and attachment style on how couples negotiate conflict in their relationships.
